The big three have scared off most of the competiton for Saturday’s Caulfield Guineas, Helmet, Smart Missile and Manawanui are set for the showdown in what looks likely to be 
a very tactical race.
Helmet goes from outside gate eight in the eight runner field and connections will be hoping that last in first out rings true at the start. His faultless performance when winning the Caulfield Guineas Prelude on 24th September after two third places gives reason to believe he’s spot on for the prize on Saturday at $2.60
Smart Missile $3.30 goes from gate two for his first try at 1600m. He’s had an unlucky run in the build up to this race just missing out on the win in the Golden Rose and tenth in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes last up. Connections are keeping positive in the belief that ladyluck will appear very soon to give this highly talented colt the break he deserves.
A cracking start for Manawanui $5.00 who got gate three, it’s his first at 1600m and in the left-handed direction. Winner of the Golden Rose where he beat Smart Missile and Helmet he was last seen delivering a sizzling run to win the Stan Fox Stakes on September 24th.
The Bill Stutt Stakes winner Chase The Rainbow is only the other contender in the single figure odds being a $7.50 chance.

Going to put my neck on the line here and go with Manawanui, he’s straight forward, uncomplicated and adaptable in most situations. Can’t see the track being a problem and his prep has been bob on. I’m backing Manawanui at $5.00 that he will do it on Saturday.
